Thinking of Greg

September 23, 2019

Many club members will know Greg Kerr and be very sad to hear that he has terminal cancer.

Greg joined INCC in the early 2000s and very quickly became active in club administration and coaching programs. He was one of the early champions of our junior program, organising the family camp at Lake Eildon and coaching kids on Saturdays.

Later, Greg took on the big job of co-ordinating our Beginner program. In addition to introducing many people to the sport through his coaching, Greg put in many, many hours of unpaid work responding to enquiries and chasing up other coaches to ensure the program ran smoothly. In 2011, he led a group of people from their first wobbly strokes to completing the Murray Marathon as a relay team…and had a lot of fun along the way.

Greg was always ready to help out with the BBQ at club events, organise ‘come and try’ days and get on the tools to repair club boats. He was acknowledged in 2012 with the Club Contributor Award.

Poor health has limited Greg’s capacity for work for a number of years, so the club has established a benefit fund to assist Greg and his wife. Please make a donation today.
