All members should have their own Personal Flotation Device (PFD) – this is a legal requirement for anyone on the river. PFDs are mandatory in races. PFDs are available in a range of prices and designs. Inflatable models are not acceptable.
If you are just joining INCC Yarra Paddlers and do not have experience in flatwater boats, we may recommend you complete the Learn-to-Paddle program.
If you are experienced, you will need to participate in a short orientation session where you will need to show you can paddle safely by paddling or evidence of participation in recognised events.
You will receive an electronic fob to access the clubroom on successful completion of the orientation.
Members may also bring a guest on the water three times. Guests must wear a PFD and be supervised by the member at all times.
INCC runs the Learn to Paddle program and two Junior Programs with accredited coaches.
Private coaching is also available.
