Over the 10th-11th of January 2017, INCC hosted a two day summer program for both existing and new junior paddlers, ably coached by Reka Abraham. This two day program was a obvious success, with all the juniors having a great time on and off the river, enjoying each other’s company in the lovely weather.
Activities included a few long paddles up to Dights falls and the rapids, adapted versions of kayak polo (and inevitably learning how to do a deep water entry) with trivia and ball games during food and lunch breaks.
The juniors were also given the opportunity to jump into K1 boats for a different paddling experience (and an excuse to swim) and even dusted off the K4 and took it for a paddle for a bit of fun on day 2.
The adventures continued with some fun on the rope swing upstream to make the most of the mid-30s heat.
There will be a similar 5-day program running from the 15th-19th of January, from 9am – 4:30pm, jam packed with fun and exciting activities for any participants aged 8-14.
If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in this program, for registration or more information – contact Reka Abraham on 0432 684 249.
