All members should wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) – this is a legal requirement for anyone on the river. PFDs are mandatory in races. The club has some available for members to use, however we recommend you buy one of your own. PFDs are available in a range of prices and designs. Inflatable models are not acceptable.
If you are just joining INCC Yarra Paddlers and do not have experience in flatwater boats, we may recommend you complete the Learn-to-Paddle program.
New members will need to participate in a short orientation session where you will need to show you can paddle safely. Bring paddling clothes and footwear to the orientation session.
You will receive an electronic fob to access the clubroom on successful completion of the orientation.
Members may also bring a guest on the water three times. Guests must wear a PFD and be supervised by the member at all times.
Members have unlimited access to the club fleet for use from the clubhouse. Please make sure you ‘sign out’ the boat in the book (near the door) and notify us if there is any damage.
INCC runs the Learn to Paddle program and two Junior Programs with accredited coaches.
Private coaching is also available.
