We’re back!

June 11, 2020
Members can use club boats and paddles from this weekend

After weeks of lockdown, we are delighted to advise our members that we can now take the next step in our phased re-opening – and welcome back all members to clubhouse.

From this Saturday June 13, we will again be able to use club boats and paddles, providing we comply with the new rules below.

We thank all members for their patience and support – we have all been missing our paddling friends and time on the water. Please note that at this stage members still cannot use the kitchen, change rooms or gym.

One important change to note regarding PFDs
Sharing life jackets (PFDs) is not ‘COVID-safe’. So we ask all members to obtain and use their own PFD. As you all know, wearing a PFD is a legal requirement in Victoria. So, if you don’t have one, please consider these options:

Pre-loved PFD
To assist our members, we are offering club PFDs to members. If you are interested in getting one, come to the clubhouse between 9 and 9.30 am this Saturday or Sunday. We suggest members taking up this offer make a $10 donation to the club. If you are unable to come at this time, please email to make other arrangements.

Join in a group purchase of Vaikobi PFDs
We have been able to secure a discount on the popular Vaikobi range if we place a bulk order as a club. There are 3 styles available, with $20 off the retail price. Check them out online at http://www.kayakshopaustralia.com.au
    • Vaikobi V3 Ocean Racer  (INCC price $150)
    • Vaikobi VPX   ($150)
    • Vaikobi VX Race    ($140)
If you are interested in a Vaikobi PFD, please complete this form to place your order by Wednesday, June 17.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a lower price option on a new PFD, Anaconda (in store and online) and findsports (Dandenong and online) appear to have stock. Canoes Plus (Kew East and online) also have a range of PFDs.

Again, we would like to thank Yarra Council for its support and prompt approval of our revised Return to Play plan.
