Important information about membership (please read before joining!)

The membership year runs from 1st July until 30th June.

Australian Canoeing / Canoeing Victoria membership: The membership fee includes both INCC membership and membership of AC/CV. Please note that ‘Competitive’ membership is required to participate in races organised by CV or AC. If you have already joined AC/CV through another club please contact the Treasurer to arrange a refund of the AC/CV portion of the fee.

Club Boats: The Club provides boats for the use of members. The cost of providing the club boats is funded through the membership fees. The fees are lower for members who have their own boat because the cost to the club is lower. If you don’t have your own boat, are a regular user of club boats (say, more than once a month) or intend using a club boat for competition then you must join as a ‘club boat user’. Fees are calculated such that members who have their own boat are entitled to occasional use of club boats.

Concession: INCC provides reduced membership fees for pensioners and Health Care Card holders. ‘Adult Concession’ membership can be selected directly when joining via the Australian Caneoing online system.

Family membership: Each family member needs to join/renew on-line separately through the Canoeing Australia system. If joining as a family, the first family member pays the ‘Family’ membership fee. Subsequent family members should select the relevant non-paying family member category (which has a zero fee).

Couples: Couples without children should join/renew as two individual adults.

School membership upgrade: Students who hold ‘Youth – limited competition’ membership and who wish to participate in competition at state or national level, or who wish to use INCC equipment (such as INCC boats), are required to join the INCC as a ‘Student’ member. This can be done via the Canoeing Australia online system. Once a member has upgraded to Student membership he or she needs to continue with Student membership in future years.

Social membership: the ‘social’ membership category is provided for those who wish to participate in non-paddling club activities and use club facilities (other than boats) or who wish to remain affiliated with the club and receive club publications, etc. This also provides ‘social’ membership of AC/CV.

Keys: a clubhouse key is provided to existing members and to new members after participating in an orientation session and providing evidence of paddling competency.

New members pay a fee based upon the date of application: 100% of the full year fee is payable for those joining from 1st July to 31st December; about 70% of the full year fee applies for those joining from 1st January to 31st March and about 50% of the full year fee applies from 1st April to 30th June.

To ensure you receive the pro-rata discount on your membership fee, select the appropriate membership category from the drop down list next to the field ‘membership type’, then select the corresponding pro-rata discount item from the options listed under ‘membership type’. NOTE: do not only select ‘pro-rata discount’ categories from the drop-down list

Existing members pay a single amount for the year regardless of the date of renewal. If you have been a member of Australian Canoeing / Canoeing Victoria (AC/CV) in the last two years then you must join as an “existing” member (this is an AC/CV requirement). Existing members must not select any of the ‘pro-rata discount’ items that appear on the page when they renew their membership.
